Ms. Chen

Ms. Chen started her piano and violin studies at a young age. She began her professional music
training in the Kuang Jen School Music Division at the age of six, where she was accepted as a
double major. Ms. Chen has won numerous prizes from piano competitions, including the
Yamaha and Kawai International Competitions and the Young Artists Award in her hometown,
Taiwan. Ms. Chen pursued her degrees (2004-2012) at the Mannes School of Music and
Juilliard School, where she studied with Ms. Victoria Mushkatkol, Ms. Pavlina Dokovska, Ms.
Irina Edleman, and Mr. Victor Rosenbaum.
As an active solo and chamber musician, Ms. Chen’s New York appearances include concerts at
Carnegie Hall, Steinway Hall, Town Hall, Merkin Concert Hall at Kaufman Music Center,
Baryshnikov Arts Center, and the Church of the Holy Trinity, as well as in Taiwan's National
Concert Hall. Ms. Chen performs extensively as a pianist in the Eastern America Association for
Church Music. She has participated and performed at the BIMFA International Music Festival
and in master classes under the direction of renowned pianists.
Ms. Chen committed to becoming a professional music educator early in her career. She belives
that being an educator carries tremendous responsibility, and requiring not only extensive
knowledge of the subject but also the ability to adapt teaching approaches effectively which only
comes with experience.

Ms. Chen has distinguished herself as a thoughtful musician and educator. During her 20-plus
years of professional teaching, Ms. Chen has instructed hundreds of students and held numerous
music recitals for her students over time. With her extensive teaching experience in both private
lessons and music institutions, Ms. Chen sets a very high standard for Vienna Music, because she
believes a conducive learning environment is key for proper education. Ms. Chen specializes in
instructing students who plan to take certified examinations (NYSSMA, ABRSM, and RCM)
and guiding students who intend to apply to music conservatories and become music
professionals. Her students have achieved high marks in NYSSMA, ABRSM, and RCM grading
exams and have been accepted to the Manhattan School of Music Pre-College and Mannes
Preparatory Music Division.
In the past 10 years, her students have won numerous prizes in the American Protégé
International Piano Competition and the AADGT International Young Musician Festival. Many
of her students have won first prizes and performed at Carnegie Weill Hall.

Originally from Kaohsiung, Taiwan, Ms. Vicky had her debut concert at the age of 12, and gave several other concerts throughout Taiwan. Since then, she has distinguished herself as a driven and gifted pianist, with numerous performances spanning Asia and the United States. Throughout her career, Vicky has performed and recorded extensively as both a soloist and a collaborative pianist. Most recently, she has become closely involved in working with exciting contemporary composers. As a member of her Chicago-based ensemble Zafa Collective, Vicky was proud to premiére the works of Michal Massoud and Sato Matsui in 2017.

Ms. Eugenia is a passionate and creative educator in piano. Raised in a family surrounded by music, she showed her interest in piano at the age of four. Since then, the sound of music has filled her life with joy and motivation. After receiving diplomas in Piano Performance, she decided music would be her lifelong career. “Teaching is to light up a candle in student’s mind” Eugenia crafts her lessons to each student’s needs, emphasizing a balance between foundations of technique and appreciation to piano music. Her goals are to give students a great sense of self-confidence to become independent learners, to equip them with skills and musical understanding, and to enlighten them to express themselves through the love of music. With over 15 years of teaching experience, Eugenia has actively encouraged her students to participate in musical exams, many of them achieved remarkable results, including Merit and Distinction in ABRSM, and Outstanding scores in NYSSMA. Eugenia believes music has no boundaries, and she enjoys working with students of all ages, backgrounds and levels. Also, she can communicate fluently in English, Mandarin and Cantonese.

Ms. Elif performs at major venues worldwide, touring the U.S., and many countries in Europe as a guest performer. Trained in Russian, Turkish and American piano techniques, she is the laureate of more than 20 international piano competitions. Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s at Manhattan School of Music, Ms. Elif remains active as a solo pianist. With more than 8 years of teaching experience, Ms. Elif has prepared students for exams such as NYSSMA and ABRSM, entrance exams, competitions, and concerts. She has worked with students, ages 4 to adult, helping them advance their piano technique, musicality, and theory as well as gain general music knowledge and culture by approaching music from the classical repertoire. Tailoring lessons to individual goals and interests, Ms. Elif aims to foster a lifelong love of music in her students.

Ms. Sarah S

Ms. Sarah S

Ms. Sarah is a piano performer and teacher in NYC. She has been playing and studying piano in institutions such as the Brooklyn Conservatory of Music since a young age. Her main focus is on Classical music, but has also received training in jazz as a young student. She has received multiple scholarships, accolades and completed her master’s degree in piano performance at Hunter College where she also studied music for her undergraduate music degree. She has studied under the tutelage of Gary Hammond and Geoffrey Burleson and performed in many masterclasses for pianists and renowned educators such as Yves Henry, Seymour Bernstein and William Wolfram. She has performed as a soloist in various venues in NYC and Europe. She has also performed and collaborated with opera singers and chamber groups in chamber music festivals. Sarah’s passion also includes relating and educating her students with her in depth knowledge and experience with piano. She also studied opera and the voice as an instrument in order to better communicate lyrical singing and expressive virtuosity to her students. Her philosophy as a teacher is that any student from any musical background can become as a great musician as long as the teacher works to inspire passion and knowledge and the student reciprocates with dedication to practicing music as an art form.In addition to her commitment to relating this great piano tradition to her students, she is currently also working on a number of classical and contemporary music projects with other professional musicians.

Mr. Hayden S

Mr. Hayden S

Mr. Hayden is a pianist, composer, and arranger originally from Atlanta, GA. He grew up in a musical family, with all of his three siblings enjoying playing piano, guitar, and creating their own music. Mr. Hayden’s passion for music began at a young age, listening to his parents’ renditions of songs from musicals, and watching his siblings write and perform their own music. Mr. Hayden pursued his musical education at Berklee College of Music in Boston, Massachusetts, where he studied music composition. During his time at Berklee, He had the privilege of learning from exceptional teachers such as Larry Bell, Emma Leiuman, Anne Goldberg-Baldwin, and Dave Frank. He also had the opportunity to participate in masterclasses with renowned composer Tania Leon and pianist/educator Kenny Werner. These experiences helped shape his musical tastes and broadened his worldview, enabling him to grow as a composer and musician. As a piano teacher, his goal is to inspire his students to become excellent musicians by providing a nurturing environment that encourages self-expression and personal growth through music. He believe that each student has unique strengths, weaknesses, and learning styles, so he tailor his teaching approach to their individual needs and goals, whether they’re interested in classical, jazz, pop, or rock piano. He emphasize the development of good playing habits, including hand position, finger technique, posture, and music theory. At the same time, he encourage students to explore their own creativity and develop their musicality and artistry by helping them develop their listening skills and conveying their emotions and ideas through their playing.

Ms. Kim

Ms. Kim is a composer from Seoul, South Korea. While in Seoul, she worked as a music instructor, and a producer/arranger for the music accompaniment application, “Instream Music”. She holds an MFA from NYU Tisch, Graduate Musical Theatre Writing Program (Composer), and a BA from Korea National University of Arts with a major in Musicology and a minor in Composition. Ms. Kim was selected as a Music Gifted Education recipient by Seoul Metropolitan and completed the program during her high school years. Recently embarking on a new journey in NYC, Ms. Kim actively engages in the musical theatre industry. She premiered her new musical, “Heavy Heaven” (2023, book/lyrics/music), as a participant in the New York Theatre Festival, earning nominations in the Best Production Short, Best Music Score, and Best Singer categories. Additionally, she presented a staged reading of her full-length musical, “Bari: The Abandoned Princess” (2023, music/lyrics), as part of the Spark Theatre Festival. Ms. Kim has served as a pianist and music director for various shows, including as an associate music director for the award-winning musical, “Fly To Tomorrow,” which underwent a 29-hour reading at Playwrights Horizons. As a music instructor, Ms. Kim prioritizes communication with her students, helping them achieve their individual goals. She began her teaching career by guiding high school students in audition preparation, with many successfully gaining acceptance into their desired universities. Her teaching style emphasizes expressive techniques, aiming to cultivate creativity and individuality in her students’ musical performances. With over two decades of piano playing experience and a diverse background in music, Ms. Kim imparts not only piano skills but also a profound appreciation for music itself. Currently, she teaches piano and music theory at Vienna Music, where she passionately shares musical journeys with students of various levels and ages, cherishing the opportunity to nurture their enthusiasm and potential.
